When I Grow Up......

You know, it occurred to me the other day that I am nearing 30 yrs old.  My body is different than it use to be (i.e. I can't bounce back after a baby like I once did!) and my outlook on God and the meaning of life is drastically changed for the better.  But yet, I don't FEEL like I'm anywhere close to 30 yrs old.  I still feel as though I'm a young twenty year old having to defend my decision of getting married and having babies at a "nowadays" young age.  Then it dawned on me that everything I want to do it life, are things that most of my friends could do or are doing, but they are anywhere from 5 to 10 years older than us... so they are at the spot to truly settle down in a home/town and hopefully in a career/job that is semi permanent.

We just aren't there yet.....  so when I grow up......

Splurge on: A great big farm house and land....LOTS and LOTS of land

Understand: How to love like Jesus did and but aside all fears, prejudice and judgement

Sleep:  A little bit more wouldn't hurt...but mostly with those I love....lots more cuddle days in the bed with a movie and books

Own: That great big farm house and ALL that land..... free and clear....no debt

Collect:  Beautiful paintings....not the classics but paintings that are beautiful and mean something to our family

Eat:  Good and real food...all the time....

Purchase: What we need, very little new

Rent:   Buy:  A vacation home...in mountains or at the beach.... to spend weeks at with family and friends

Give:  Unselfishly

Avoid:  People that are going to pull me down

Destroy: Hatred, bitterness, envy, strife

Retain:  Love, Peace and Patience

Fear:  In losing all that is important

Enjoy:  Find simplicity in life

Laugh:  A lot with my husband

Resemble:  All the ones I love, their best qualities

Drink:  More milkshakes with my boys

Grasp:  The Lord's love for me

What will YOU do when you grow up?  Won't you join me?
