I saw this posted on Facebook the other day. I'm not quite sure which "family friendly, review/giveaway, natural" blog it was on, I follow quite a few on FB, but whichever one did, I am forever grateful! I love Clorox wipes (or store brand is what I usually buy)....the disinfectant wipes! They are kinda my one splurge a month. I hate buying them...they are expensive, even on a great deal... but for wiping nasty potties and meat off the counter, they are wonderful, because they just go in the trash!
So, anyway, when I saw the post that these heaven sent wipes could be made at home, I was sold! Hubbie went looking at Publix for the ingredients and came home with my list! Liquid castile soap really does exist! I've only seen it in bar form, although, I've never looked for liquid castile soap. After walking around Target looking for it, Hubbie said that Target, GNC and Publix all carry it! And even another one that I can't think of right now.... I'm amazed!
Making the wipes was SO easy! I followed the directions and made the wipes and they smell so clean and fresh! I can't wait to start cleaning.... hee hee..... just kidding, but it will be nice to use these and then not have to worry about "drying" the area before doing something else on it that MIGHT come in contact with the kids or food. Not that I want my food to taste like the wipes, but, I did always have to get a paper towel or wait until the countertop dried off before starting on my next task!
Now, I think I can officially call my cleaning supplies GREEN! Not that I was aiming for that.... I prefer to do it because its cheap and better for my family....not necessarily the environment! Yes, shocking, I know! I love the Earth and don't want to destroy it, BUT I just can't add one more "worry" into my daily life. Please spare me the speeches of how being "green" can be easy, cheap, yada yada yada! I've read it, have friends that do and we don't! ;o)
The worst thing about making everything - laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, cleaning supplies and now disinfectant wipes- is that if you run out and need to hurry and run a load of laundry.... guess what?! You gotta make detergent first! Not that any of the things that we make are time consuming, but guess what? When its either throw a load in real quick or it not get done that day.... it can become a burden! I think I need to always have a back-up-plan for these things as a "just in case" I need something NOW!

That's awesome! I want to try it too.
We've been using cloth napkins at the table and damp washcloths to wipe grubby hands and faces.
I used a lot of Clorox wipes in my classroom, pre-kids. Never slowed down to read the warning on the side of the container... oops!
I might have to try these. I try to use as little bleach as possible, but we do still use it on the toilets, kitchen sink, and tub. I just can't seem to give it up on those surfaces. :-)
