We sang this in church this morning. I love both versions of this song- the hymn and the "new" version, but something about the chorus of the new version gets me every time.
This made me stop and reflect on the words....
"O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live"
How do you find joy in life of seemingly mundane tasks, dirty diapers, cleaning spills and screaming fits?!
True joy and abundant living in HIM comes from dying to ourselves. Once we die to ourselves, we find true fulfillment in our daily and repetitive tasks...... because joy is NOT always going to be easy because sometimes we face things that make us feel hopeless.....BUT
