Project 365- Day 1

A local gal is doing the Project 365, which is taking a picture every day, for the whole year.  I have seen other bloggers do this and always enjoyed the pictures, but wasn't sure if I was up for the challenge!  Not sure if I am or not, but hey!  I'll give it a try.....

Day 1 - January 1

My new-to-me kitchen table and 6 chairs!  Count them!!!  6 chairs make me excited!  The table was my parents when we were growing up and then it was passed to my oldest brother and his wife for the last..... 9 years?  Recently my parents gave them their "old" table and I asked if this table would fit 6, so they sent it down to us.  Its been sitting in our carport for about a month.  I have been looking for some antique small chairs to fit around this and needing 6 makes it challenging.  Just when I was about to give up, ditch the table and start from scratch, Mom suggested we run into a consigning furniture store that I hadn't been in.  Guess what?  Sitting right on the front porch were my chairs!  4 cute chairs, in good condition!  Mom loaned me the other tall back chairs that I needed to total 6 chairs!

I love my new little table!  Walking into the kitchen makes me happy!  The table we had before was nice and I liked the style (kinda country) but it was way too large for our kitchen.  I'm on a hunt for pieces that I love and enjoy and if I don't love it, its being kicked out of the house!  The new table gives us so much room and makes the kitchen eating area feel so open and airy!  I am in love......

Looks great.... It seems so funny that I have sat at this table for snacks, dinners, lunches, cut Jana's and her kids hair at this table, and even played games and talked while all of the kids played together. We recently got a bigger table to fit all five of us or more if needed. It was my grandmother's and needs some attention but for now it works.
