I Did it!

Yay!  I did it!  I made Baby Girl a dress!  :o)

Last week I found a freebie tutorial for a newborn sized dress and I quickly downloaded the pattern and tutorial.  It looked pretty simple, so I started cutting out the pieces at nap time one day only to realize that I needed piping and bias tape.  I have never bought either.....so I dragged all 3 boys to Hobby Lobby after nap time.  I had a hard time finding what I wanted.  I was going to go with cream, but they were out, so I chose brown.  It works.

I am by NO means a master seamstress.  I make LOTS of mistakes.  I sew pretty slow because I am not confident in my sewing skills, but I do alright.  I am so blessed that my Granny gave me her older machine so that I haven't had to worry with costs for a machine.  My parents fixed it up for me last year and it works great for what I need.

This tutorial also had a 0-3 sized dress pattern so I think that will be my next project for her.  I have lots of fabric to make more dresses and she in need of dresses/outfits for her until the weather changes or 3/4 mos.

Beautiful! I'm not a great seamstress, but I like to experiment. Unfortunately my machine only likes to work about 25% of the time. :-(

Ah! It looks awesome! We probably have the same amount of sewing skills. I have a machine (love to buy pretty fabric) and can kinda read a pattern. Projects take me 100% longer than they should, but the reward is always sweet.

Fantastic job!
