We decided the keep the kids home from church nursery since we did have green snot the evening before. Hubbie and I felt just awful on Saturday night... we even thought maybe we had a touch of a flu. Sunday morning the kids woke up with no green snot, but with horrible coughs, so we felt like we had made the right decision. I felt a tad bit better as the day progressed. We decided to do a fun breakfast treat with the kids as a way to finish off opening our remembrance eggs and keeping our focus on Christ that morning.
Here is the link to the Easter Rolls- http://go.tipjunkie.com/ea/200/homegrownmom.com/creating-family-times/resurrection-rolls-an-easy-easter-treat/1689 We had done something different last year which was also neat. They were more like divinity cookies with nuts, but it wasn't a breakfast-y thing, so when I saw this one day, I decided that this might be a little bit better for our family. I thought it was pretty cool that the marshmallow disappeared. What a wonderful visual for the kids! And I gotta say, these are pretty tasty too!
After doing our breakfast reading and devotional, we opened our last two eggs and read the Scripture that went along with them. I have to say, one of our best purchases have been the resurrection eggs. The kids enjoy them more each year and the devotionals are written so well for children. One evening, after doing that day's eggs and devotional, our children thanked Jesus for His sacrifice and it brought tears to my eyes. Precious moments that I'll never forget.
The easter baskets were a HUGE hit this year. Bubbie had been BEGGING for a few months for a new Adventures in Odyssey CD set, so we went ahead and gave him that. What a happy little boy he was! Peanut has enjoyed his little golf set I was able to find for 1/3 of the price off an online seller. And Buggy has thoroughly enjoyed his "new" books that we used our store credit at 2nd and Charles to purchase for him! All in all, a very thrifty easter basket year!
The rest of Easter was kind of a blur. Lots of snot! Lots of coughing and yucky feeling! We took naps and Hubbie and I did some laundry until we found out our dryer was messing up and was in need of repairs. UGH! When it rains it pours! We were able to "diagnose" the problem and get the parts ordered so that we wouldn't be without a dryer too long. By this point in the day I had HAD it. The kids were fussy and bouncing off the walls (from sugar overdose!), I was fussy, Hubbie felt bad and was stressed and we were all sleep deprived!
We headed to my parents house at dinner time for dinner, my birthday cake and an egg hunt! I'm so glad we went, because I kept wondering if we should even bother. I felt bad. The kids felt bad. Were we too sick to go, etc. but the kids enjoyed themselves. Hubbie and I were thankful to not be home stressing. Dinner and my requested carrot cake were very yummy!! :o)
On our way to Soaring Arrows home-school group Easter party. Best picture.... bummer!
Such a ham...keeps our family laughing
Handsome and getting so big!
Little stinker... love these bubbles!
The best of pals.... so thankful for these two buddies!
My 3 sons... the best picture of them together. They were cooperating so well and then my batteries died! Bummer!
And lets not forget the always sought after family picture.... yup..... this is ours..... ugh! Why do I even try?! HAHA! And to think, in a few months, we will have to physically protect one while trying to get these three to cooperate during a photo! I had to include this photo in the blog post, because it got such great comments when I posted it on FB yesterday!! :o) A "framer"? I think not... but a photo to look at and have a laugh, definitely!

The first picture of the 3 boys tells a story. Cute! And the family picture is one that probably holds more memories than a "normal" family picture.
You have a beautiful family!
