Even in the midst of life's chaos and hardships
He's risen.
Even when life throws punch after punch.
He lives.
As Easter has approached, life got more stressful, uncertain and discouragement set in.
He is still the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, the Creator God.
This past week, as we reminded our children that Easter wasn't about the stupid Easter bunny, but about Jesus, I fought back emotions of not wanting to celebrate Easter at all. Just closing up shop and spending the weekend in bed. Hoping that we wouldn't have to celebrate. I know it sounds ugly, but its my spot at this very moment.
He never changes. He lives and is coming back.
I was reminded, during a ugly spot on Saturday morning, of these verses, that really have nothing to do with Easter, necessarily, but about my God, the one whom I'm choosing to worship, no matter what is going on to make me feel weak, powerless, frustrated, annoyed, stressed, discouraged....
"Because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence. So please don't lose heart because of my trials here. I am suffering for you, so you should feel honored. When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." Eph 3
So, we continued to teach our children the reason to celebrate Easter, reading Scripture, opening our eggs each evening, having devotions and making a fun Easter breakfast to teach our children of why God is worthy of worship... even in the midst of life.
He is worthy of praise. He never changes.
He lives and made it possible for me to live.
He is coming back.
I choose to worship because of who He is and what He has done for me.
Happy Easter!
