Teach Them Diligently Convention

Teach Them Diligently Convention

"And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up." Deut. 6:6-7

In less than three weeks, Hubbie, Millie and myself will be heading to Spartanburg, South Carolina for the Teach Them Diligently Convention!  There are a handful of home schooling conferences in the next few months- a few in South Carolina and a few in Atlanta.  What made me want to go to the TTD convention were the vendors that they had secured, the fact that it was being organized by a group of homeschooler, with an emphasis on families and providing for their needs, seemed a much more intimate of a setting and atmosphere than a big name convention and, of course, the speakers!   I love their vision and purpose for the convention!

Also, knowing that Voddie Baucham would be there, so that Hubbie could attend the Men's Breakfast, was very exciting!  I really like some of his books and I was able to purchase one of them for Hubbie a few months ago!  Such good stuff for men, as leaders for their families!

Several of the conventions have the same speakers, vendors, etc. but I had already made the decision to go to this one back in December and then the other conferences made their announcements, etc.

We will be taking Millie!  I really hope she does OK.  She is extremely wiggly and loud!  I am not ready to leave her, even if she wasn't nursing.  I am not much for leaving my babies before they are able to talk, able to let people know what they need/want, etc.  Just hurts my Mama's heart and I have the rest of my life to not be attached to my kiddos.....so we'll just do what we can with her.  If she gets fussy, we'll take turns, walk around, lay her on a blanket on the floor beside us and if we need to leave, we'll just buy a recording of the session!  We'll go with no expectations of her and just enjoy going!

I'm very excited to go through the vendor exhibition hall!  I already have my Pinterest board for the booths I want to stop by!  Cannot wait to get my hands on so much curriculum!!  A homeschooling Mama's dream!  To be able to turn the pages and look through before purchasing!  :o)  I'm probably a little too giddy about it!

Our boys will stay behind with their Nana and Pops!  They are super excited about a few days with their grandparents!  The convention does have a child care option for our older boys, but Nana said she'd be happy to take all three, so we figured it'd be a little easier with only one kiddo!  We'll have to start praying for health, sunny skies and obedience!

After the list of speakers and sessions came out, I printed it out.  I went through with a high lighter and marked everything that sounded interesting!  Sadly, we have four or five sessions each hour that we've like to be in!  Not going to work, huh?!  So, we'd be buying recordings whether we had Millie with  us or not!

Such good speakers and topics!  We're excited!!  If you're nearby, come too!  I think we're in for a treat!
